Assassins seems at least more promising than the Bond novel First Impression from a few weeks ago, but the writing still isn't strong enough for my taste. The descriptions of the land and conditions ring true, but the second the characters start talking it all falls apart. We need more character development (and seriously, stop pointing out which characters are "women" in the blurb).
