I will start off by saying I don't typically like this genre. So, my review may be biased. Overall, the pacing, the jumping right into action sequence after action sequence without connecting to the characters is jarring, and doesn't buy my investment into a book. I am sure someone who is interested or followed closely the war in Afghanistan would enjoy this retelling.
