What a fantastic plot!

Madison is written as a small town that people usually drive through without a second glance. Yet the thing with small towns is that they can posses their own kind of magic and, in this case, that's the power to grant one wish.

I liked the various metaphors in the first chapters, like the perpetual wind blowing through the town. It sets up the idea of how the nature of wishes themselves are flimsy and can pass through quickly. It also reflects Eldon's character who seems to internally wish he could pass through the town like the wind.

As You Wish just reels you in right away. Readers eagerly absorb the pages taking in all the details of Eldon's life all the while wondering what Eldon will wish for after all; it also brings to question what our own wish would be.
