The cover for this book is STUNNING first of all. It's an eye-catcher for sure!
So when I first read the synopsis for the book, I was immediately hooked, and I couldn't wait to read it! Then I saw that the reviews were all over the place for it, so I was a bit worried. Anyway, I decided to pick it up and read it for myself.
Overall, this book was okay for me. I thought it was a bit long though--the pacing could've been tightened up.
I liked that the main character was unlikeable. With that said, there were times when I though it was a bit much for me personally. He was selfish and critical of his friends and family, which made him indifferent of their feelings. I liked that he realized he could be a horrible person, but I guess I was just hoping that he would change a bit more as the story went on. He was giving me Holden Caulfield vibes... and that wasn't always a good thing for me.
I also appreciate that the book explored taboo topics; but I think they could've been handled a bit better at times.
