This book grabbed my attention right away. The MC is relatable and his thoughts are rather funny. The mystery of it all kept me reading. I need to know what happens and what the wish is all about! The voice of the story is fresh which not an easy task these days in YA. Often style, characters, and plot are recycled from the many YA books written before but all of these factors felt new and exciting. The setting was also great. I loved watching the show "Roswell" and the setting felt similar. Probably because there is talk of aliens at the beginning but also just the atmosphere of it all. The only thing I was unsure of was the emphasis on the town not having a church. This didn't make much sense to me but hopefully this is answered in the full book.
