The moment I read the premise I got very interested in this book.
This is a story about a town called Madison where each inhabitant gets a wish grated when they turn 18, so they discourage visitors and newcomers to keep tha magic hidden.
The protagonist of the story is Eldon, a boy who is about to turn 18 in a month and doesn't really look forward for his wish, because everyone who has gotten theirs seem to still don't be happy with the results of it.

I loved the premise but not the execution. Eldon is not a likeable character, and as we only get to know the story from his perspective, it's a bit hard to get into it if you don't like him.

The story is kinda repetitve, him judging people and being a douche and then he getting to know what other's wished for and the results. This makes the book pacing very slow and kinda tedious.

Overall is a book with a very unique premise, but the character ruined it all for me.
