This book so far is interesting and main character has potential to grow. The
protagonist, Eldon is very unlikable, but has room to grow. He can be very
annoying and can get on your nerves at times. The one thing I'm worried about
is that their will be no plot or a very slow plot. While I personally don't mind that
a book doesn't have a plot so long as the characters are interesting. But I
know for some readers this can be problematic. I feel like this can be really
good or a one star book depending on how complex the character is or the
amount of layers the author intends to add. I haven't read many small town
books with secrets, but I think this may be a great stepping point in that genre.
The writing overall is mediocre. One thing I do enjoy is the chapter titles. It
has been a while since I've seen a YA book that has titled chapters. In the end,
while I don't think I would read this, I would recommend it for those who are
new to reading.
