Unintended consequences

I am not the demographic that this book is intended for but I thought the premise was intriguing, even if a bit Twilight Zone-ish (I think I REALLY gave my age away now). I didn’t much care for Eldon in the beginning of the first chapter, but as I finished the chapter and the following ones offered, I found myself more and more drawn into the story. A town where everyone gets to make a wish on their 18th birthday that will change their lives and those of everyone around them, but where the unintended consequences of those wishes has made people less happy rather than more content. I don’t know what I would have wished for at 18, nor now either, come to that. Interesting concept and something to consider. I’d probably read this book to find out what everyone wished for and how their high hopes failed to come to fruition. And what Eldon decides to wish for.
