At some point everyone has wondered "What if I had one wish?"

I enjoyed the start of the novel and the sense of humor in distracting tourists from Madison. The characterization of Eldon is likeable and adding the dysfunctional element with his mother draws the reader to feel empathy towards him. Throughout my lifetime, I have had numerous fantasies concerning wishes. This is a timeless contemplation that I was introduced to at a young age with stories of a genies in a bottle. This modern approach to the subject immediately attracted me. I can remember as a child laying awake at night and constructing my wish so that I could get the most out of it while dissecting it to create one that wouldn't turn on me and end in with an opposite effect from the desired one. For me it was a frivolous fantasy that allowed me momentary distraction from any problem I might be dealing with at that time. I look forward to Eldon's journey, to understand his internal struggle with his choices and to witness the outcome of his decisions.
