Susan Meissner is definitely one of my favorite authors. I adore her characters in every one of her novels. She really hits the nail on the head when it comes to Historical Fiction.
She has a way with her stories to make you feel like you are in the story and living along side the characters!! This book has all the emotions! I cried, I laughed, I smiled... at times I actually shouted out loud! I didn't want the story to end!!!
This is a story of a family that goes through heartbreaking times, emotional stress and unbelievable circumstances. It wrenches at your heart. This one stayed with me for a very long time after I finished. I was torn as I wanted to read it all in one sitting, but at the same time I didn't want it to end.
