The writing for the book is fitting for the time era, being it has a classical feel. It is descriptive of the surroundings as the mother kneels at Henry's grave, reminiscing on his short, but meaningful existence. The mother is heart broken after the death of her infant son, yet is ready to move on to a new country, in hopes of bettering the life of her husband and three daughters. She is willing to leave Henry's small grave with a lamb on the headstone for the sake of her family.
I am looking forward to reading the entire book, and believe a box of tissues will be needed. I like a book with women characters that are strong and overcome tragedy and heartbreak to become stronger. I loved it!
