I rate this book a 5 out of 5 Stars

Huge thank you to BookishFirst and Berkley Pub for sending me an ARC of this book, in exchange of an honest review.

This book was outstanding. And so breathtakingly beautiful. I have discovered a new love for Historical Fiction, so even though I have not read very many, I believe this is my favorite one, hands down. The characters were so well developed, and written so well, I felt what they felt, when they had ranging emotions, so did I.

"AS BRIGHT AS HEAVEN" is full of heartbreak, I kept asking myself when is the Bright family going to catch a break? Why do they constantly have to suffer? They deserved so much more than the hands they were dealt during the book, and I was so pleased to see that the end of the book was ended so satisfying. There was not one thing that I would change about it.

When you read this one, one thing you will come to understand, is that the Spanish Influenza was horrific, it wasn't until I read this book that I understood the THOUSANDS of lives lost to it. In tandem with the Spanish Flu was the war in France, drafting young men all over the U.S.A. and having them fight in the war, sending them back to their families broken, and some of the shells of who they used to be. Way back before P.T.S.D. was ever a medical thing. Susan captured all of this, every single emotion tied to these horrific events in out history. I suffered along with the families of both the Brights, and the families who lost loved ones to the flu and to the war.

I am so grateful that I was able to read this book before it's available to be sold. This was my first Susan Meissner book, and now I look forward to reading, any and everything she has and will be writing. I cannot stress it enough guys, when this book comes out on on Feb. 6th. Please Please read it! I will include pre-order link down below.
