Anchored Hearts is a second chance romance with lots of elements I loved: the large family that's meddling but loving, the Cuban culture and delicious food in the book, and the setting that makes me want to travel away from dreary Chicago and visit Key West. I also appreciated the slow burn in this book, with lots of build up to some pretty steamy scenes at the end.

However, I felt like I might be too old for this book. The main character's dream is to build a fitness brand, which I wasn't so sure about. Even though I enjoy being part of the bookstagram community, my visions of careers and ambitions are more concrete. I think I would've liked it more if she'd wanted to be a personal trainer, open up a gym, or become a nutrition coach. Instead, it seemed like she did a little bit of everything with a goal of being famous. I also felt like the guy was pretty immature during the break up, and that his dad also was needlessly stubborn. 2.75 stars
