Firstly, I must thank BookishFirst and the publisher for an advanced copy of Anchored Hearts. I have been granted an ARC in exchange for my honest review and am very thankful for the opportunity.

Alejandro and Anamaría are about to receive a second chance when Alejandro returns to their hometown. But is there still a flame between them? Not really. The two are like magnets with the same polarity- they don't want to connect, so why try to make them?

Initially, the story seems to be a slow-burn romance. I expected the book to pick up after a while but thr flow of the story felt more like a wave, lazily drifting back and forth over the sand.

The reader is also treated to Alejandro's perspective, for the most part, and he is not the most likeable character...

A couple of things I did enjoy though, were the writing style and the incorporation of Latinx culture! I love the representation. The publisher also sent two recipes with the book and that was a treat!

Unfortunately, Anchored Hearts did not really hold up for me, but I do see it as a good, light beach read for someone else.
