First of all, I didn't read the first book in this series, and even though there are a few references to it, I didn’t feel as if I was missing anything or confused about anything.
Secondly, I love second chance stories. Sometimes timing is right, and a second chance is all that is needed to get things on track.
And thirdly, I love stories with a unique setting and getting the feel for a different culture. The language used (interspersed Spanish, etc.) really pulled me into the Cuban culture, and transported me to a place I didn’t want to leave.
With all that said, though, I was left wanting a little bit more. I wanted more risk or urgency. Something that had me turning pages faster, wanting something more to be resolved. Family meddled and such, but I wanted more friction or more at stake. Anyway, this was a sweet romance, and overall an enjoyable read.
