3.5 stars because it’s better than an average 3 star read but not quite a 4 star.
One big point for this book is it has great characters that kept me invested until the end. I really liked Kate and Sophie, I found them both compelling.
My biggest problem I think is the pace was a little too slow for me. I’m all for a slow burn but for it to be worth it (in my opinion) there needs to be a big mind blowing twist at the end. And unfortunately, I guessed the big twist a little too early. However, it was still a great twist, I loved it.
Also I feel like most of the drama was outside of the courtroom rather than in. I feel like there could have been a little better balance so there were more shocking courtroom moments.
I want to end this review by saying it’s a good book, not amazing but definitely worth a read if you like courtroom dramas. Basically I liked it, just didn’t love it.
