The Preview Didn't Hook Me

The plot summary sounded like it might be a fun 'beach-read' type of book, and the artistic rendering of the female on the cover caught my eye because I thought she looked like young Grace Kelly. I believe it is very possible that the rest of the book could be interesting for its mention of famous places or restaurants. That said, the preview chapters just didn't make me want to read me. Sometimes some of the details would make me stop, like an anachronism. For example: it is 1963 but nineteen-year-old Millie wears a flapper dress? And the male protagonist travels in second class to Europe for graduate school, but he drinks Moet & Chandon champagne in his hotel room upon arrival? When I found myself thinking that some of these details just weren't flowing together for me, I felt this probably was not a book for me.
