An Improbable Pairing follows the story of Scott who is an american student traveling to another country to attend graduate school when he meets Desiree the Countess of Rovere who is older and very well off. That meeting changes both of their lives and what follows in a whirlwind romance.
When I first started this book it sounded interesting and thought it was off to a good start, but i quickly started to not like the book and for me it never seemed to get better. I thought the author was to caught up in describing the location people were in or what people were eating and wearing that I felt like we never really got to know the characters. For a book about the love story between these two people I never felt a connection and the conversations between them felt scarce. I think it would have been better if they interacted more. Also throughout the book we were subject to Scott's inter monologue which got annoying and repetitive. There was nothing about this book that I enjoyed.
