A Delightful Romp.
This book is so much fun. I enjoy the characters, and they seem very real and believable to me. I completely believe the character of the sophisticated, worldly countess who sweeps our protagonist into her world. The stock-photo used on the cover is so perfect for her, and I would love to see a movie or a British two-part miniseries of this, with a beautiful blond actress playing her, preferably with a voice and accent like the French actress Delphine Seyrig.
The countess's dialogue is a delight to read, so true to the character and the 1963 period of the book. The author is very good at characterization.
I am definitely recommending this book to people and am glad to have come across it.
