I'm not really one for romance. I feel like there wasn't much plot to speak of as I read this excerpt. I got that the main character was attracted to this Countess, but where is the conflict? What is going to keep me turning page after page? I don't know, and I don't have much desire to keep reading to find out. I also found the writing disjointed and a little bland. I don't feel like the author is taking the time to help us understand out characters or the setting. Just not for me.
