I love the time period and the charming European setting but I can't say that the main character, Scott really pulled me in. He's a young aspiring 22 year old who is a little too easily obsessed with a perfect stranger. He seemed a bit too manipulative and shallow when it came to Millie. I can't say that I really warmed up to him at all. His constant musing and fantasizing of this older woman seemed too rash, impulsive and not really explained. It just didn't jive for me.
The tone at the start of this story is a bit ominous and hints at a lot of angst and drama. Two things I'm not really drawn to in my reading choices.
The cover is pretty but not sure it would lure me in if I were to see it on display. The model is a bit intimidating, to be honest.
