I liked the premise of An Improbable Pairing, of an American graduate student falling in love with an elegant Countess. In these first seven chapters, Scott meets and immediately becomes captivated by the Countess while also befriending two other young women. Despite him supposedly being ordinary in comparison to her, he enjoys his fair share of luxury in first class and at a fancy hotel. The descriptions are all quite lovely, but so far the book felt a little slow for me and failed to truly hook me. The book cover seems to fit the book though.
