When I saw that the two authors behind one of my all time favorite suspense novels were coming out with another book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I’m happy to report that I very much loved this second novel as much as The Wife Between Us - this author duo can’t disappoint!
Jess is living in New York, barely making ends meet with her job as a makeup artist. When she hears of a psychological study that would help to cover her bills and support her sister’s medical bills, she finds her way into the unusual study. As the requests from a mysterious Dr. Shields get more and more unusual, Jess has to ask herself, is the money worth it?
This was a very entertaining read for me as I have always found psychology to be fascinating. The book fits into the domestic suspense category, which is a favorite of mine. Many of the situations that Jess and Dr. Shields get into are a bit unbelievable, but I had no problem with that for this book because it was so fun to read!
If you are looking for a fun, twisty read to start your 2019 off right, I highly recommend this novel!
