Makeup artist Jessica Farris leaves the home of one of her college student commissions with a plan--she's going to take the student's place in a psychological study led by the mysterious Dr. Shields. After all what could be easier? Just answer some simple questions and collect a few hundred dollars.

But as the questions and Jess's participation becomes more intense, she gets tangled in a web of deceit that she might not be able to break.

I found An Anonymous Girl to be thoroughly engrossing. I love the twist on the infidelity trope and the plot twists kept me turning the page--I finished this one in about a day and a half. Lydia is perfectly sinister and Jess is flawed and lovable. Hendricks and Pekkanen give us a great story about unintended consequences and you're never quite sure who to trust.

I highly recommend this delicious thriller—it’s even better than The Wife Between Us, and I liked that one a lot.
