An Anonymous Girl is a quiet thriller. The menace is elegant and subdued-which for me makes it all the more frightening and potent.

When Jessica Farris sneaks into a psychological study of morality to make some quick cash to take care of her family, she has no idea she is being caught in the snare of an obsessive sociopath who know all her darkest secrets and isn't afraid to use them. Not only that, her life is now being orchestrated in order for the psychologist to prove the love of her estranged husband with chilling results.

This book is a bit slow moving at times, but it has a mostly satisfying ending, and prompts the reader throughout to question what they truly believe about right and wrong.
