I'll give An Anonymous Girl authors Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen this: They successfully wrote the psychiatrist in this book as absolutely insufferable. Her armchair philosophizing killed me.

An Anonymous Girl is the perfect book for an evening with a bowl of popcorn and a glass of wine - the sort you should sink in and fly through, because books like this are best read in one sitting. I'd recommend you avoid if you need a likable character, or if you want something juicy and twisty. This one's more of a slowburn domestic mystery than anything.

3 stars from me - and high hopes that I like The Wife Between Us or their upcoming release more. (To be clear, I liked this one, but I didn't quite love it as much as I expected to. A mysterious psychology study run by a shady researcher? A big dose of creepiness? Those are both right up my alley.)
