It was okay
This book was super hyped up so I was really keen to read it, especially after reading the synopsis and discovering that it was extremely psychological, which appealed to me as a psychology student.
Truthfully, I was never hooked from the beginning. I did wonder what the purpose of the experiment was for a few chapters but I caught on pretty quickly. I also didn’t associate or click with any of the characters in the book. The style of writing was okay, I guess I just didn’t enjoy it overall. And the ending, to sum it up - was extremely disappointing. I felt like it was predictable and draining to even read. I didn’t hate this book but I didn’t like it either. I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend but I know a lot of people enjoyed it but I think maybe the hype and the fact I’m a psychology student myself ruined it? I don’t know.
2/5 stars from me.
