I loved The Wife Between Us and so I decided to read another book from this amazing co-author team. This book started out a little slow for me, not necessarily that it wasn't interesting, but more like I wasn't completely invested and it took me longer to read than I thought it would. By the middle, I was more invested and started chugging along faster. Just when you think you've got it figured out, things switch, but there was no major OMG moment for me in this one like there was in The Wife Between Us. It was more little moments of oh okay, I see where they're going now.
I enjoyed the alternating viewpoints, however I never really felt like the villain was particularly evil or cunning and just all around a character I wasn't too fond of.
While I liked the main character, Jess, I didn't enjoy some of the character traits they gave her (sleeping around) as it made her less likable. I also didn't love the ending and what that said about Jess as a person. Overall, I think it was an interesting read and I would probably recommend it to someone, but I don't think I'd revisit the title myself.
