I really, really enjoyed this psychological thriller written by the authors of The Wife Between Us. We follow the main character, Jess, as she enters a research study examining morality. What seems at first to be a great way to make some extra cash, becomes twisted and all consuming for Jess, who is just making ends meet as a makeup artist. I felt like this was a great character driven thriller. There weren't many "big twists" or "big reveals," but the authors wrote the characters so well that they seemed real and relatable. I feel like sometimes a character driven thriller may not appeal to many because of the lack of action, but this one was so well paced that it held my interest the entire time.
