American Homemaker was definitely one of those books that caught me by surprise in how good it was. Kim is our shining star, who seems to have it all, and mostly does. She’s a force to be reckoned with, but she’s hiding something. Something that could bring her world and entire “empire,” for lack of a better word, crashing down. Kim and her husband have paved their own way in the world, but falling on hard times, Kim finds a way. The trouble is, her husband wants out. But how do you leave a woman like Kim? You don’t.

Melody, our other high-profile character, has every dangerous killer out to get her, so she’s pretty much blacklisted at anywhere she can find work as an assassin. This leaves her knocking on Kim’s door to find work, because who else would you go to in a time like this?

Overall this book was a fantastic thrillers with twists and turns at every corner. This is a semi-domestic thriller, but it certainly will appeal to anyone who enjoys crime-related fiction and harrowing secrets.
