As an Elementary school librarian I read a lot of Children's and Middle grades books. I tend to be very picky about what I read that's geared for adults since theres only so much time (unfortunately). This book was a delight ! Absolutely worth my time to read. When I finished the book I had a smile on my face that lasted for two days!
This book really has an ensemble cast of characters which even includes the house itself. Dolly and Si are the older couple I hope my husband and I grow to be. There's a bit of mystery with an unexpected diary; some drama with an upcoming tax bill and a fire; a romance or two; even a bit of a ghost story thrown in.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to escape to another time but still wants a realistic story.
