This book kept me interested and also thoughtful about the time period and the people within the book lives and struggles. The concept of the setting helped move the story along. Also the connection of the lives within the story helped bring the mystery of the bride to reality. It was interesting to move between the time period and the current character to back in time to the former bride. The book is well written and entertaining in this regard. This book strengthens your belief in love, kindness, friendship and the power of healing. It is a book that makes you think about what is important in our lives and how to honor that over time. I like that it is wise and thoughtful and not hokey. Very enjoyable.
