Ms. Luesse creates for us an old-fashioned feel to the locale. Like we are actually back in time, experiencing life as it was. I loved Dolly and look forward to meeting her sister, Violet. Anna and Jesse? In the excerpt provided for the First Impression, it seems Dolly may be taking Anna under her wing, and we can hope that Jesse finds his way, but all of that remains to be seen. Looking forward to reading the whole book. I liked the feel of it! Three stars because of the brevity of the first look.
