Upon reading the first page, I am intrigued. I'm satisfied that the author has the voice of the time and location down perfect. I felt like I was eavesdropping by Dolly's letter to Violet. And selling caskets in the general store? WOW! I love the detail that is presented in Chapter One..it's perfect without being boring and gives the reader a real sense of place and time. Things that are drawing me to this novel: time frame (WWII is one of my favorite eras), dueling timelines (my favorite structure), secrets, and a house as a character. I hope you choose me for this book; I can't wait to get my hands on it!
