I love the opening letter that Dolly writes to her sister Violet where she laments about missing Violet's company and the status of the boarders who rent rooms in the house they were raised in. Chapter one focuses on Anna and Jesse Williams who are the new residents that will be staying with Dolly. Something is just off with Anna and Jesse's dynamic. I get the feeling they must have experienced something tragic or are on the brink of divorce. I need to know more!
Also, I love the cover. Wrap around porches in the south are my absolute favorite. This cover makes me want to grab a glass of lemonade, sit on the porch on a cool summer evening, and devour this book in one sitting.
