Historical fiction with a Southern spin.
I love how the books opening chapter starts off with a letter written in the first person. What drew me in immediately is Dolly's Southern way of speaking. It makes me connect with the characters on a personal level and I want to read more about them.
I also really like the cover of the book, as it makes me picture the boardinghouse and makes me wonder what lies inside.
