Although Bed & Breakfasts are sometimes fun for travel accommodations, the necessity to rent a bedroom as one's permanent lodgings seems sad. Thus opens the preview of ALMOST HOME. While any couple can experience tough times, especially if the nation in general is going through a depression as in this book's setting, the young husband Jesse made me feel dislike rather than feelings of pity. His impatience with his young wife as well as with Dolly, the woman from whom they are renting a room, is rude. This seems like it is going to be a nice story which provides some insight into what life in the South was like back then. I would have needed a longer preview to be definitely hooked on the plot, and for that reason, I'm not yet awarding 5 stars.
