I was lucky enough to receive a gifted copy of Almost Mortal and Almost Damned. I found both books enjoyable and would recommend to those who enjoy legal thrillers with a supernatural aspect to them. I do suggest reading Almost Mortal first because Almost Damned will be easier to follow that way. The characters are introduced more in the first book making Almost Damned easier to understand. I have not read a legal thriller similar to this one before which was refreshing and I enjoyed the scripture and supernatural that was incorporated! The writing style was easy to follow as well as the plot, but as I stated above make sure to read the first book in the series before this one to help understand it better. The characters are written well and I find the main character Sam likable. Both books were short quick reads as they are only a couple hundred pages long! I am hope there will be a third book in the series! Overall, I think the character development could be improved, but the story itself kept me interested and want to read more about Sam and his trials in the future!
