What an important message of standing up for what is right, in particular, standing up against racism and prejudice. It's so interesting that this book focuses on two young black men, one who is attending college and one who is in his senior year in high school. It jumps from 1968 and 1955 and we see how these young men are hitting their breaking points. When is enough ever enough? Both have faced prejudice and racism especially since they are amongst a majority of white classmates and staff. These time periods are important in history but also remind us that as time continues to go on, racism still exists in our world. I think this will continue to be a meaningful and powerful read.
