I have loved Emily Griffin. I've loved her from Something Borrowed. However, I had come to expect a certain type of story from her. Usually chick lit. She's known for chick lit! This was not chick lit, and I LOVED that it wasn't.
This was such an important book to read for some many reasons. A young girl who wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth but is now thrust in to their life and school, finds herself in a situation no one wants to be in. Sadly, this happens to Lyla.
The aftermath of the situation pushes three families together and forces parents to face the truth about who and what their children really are. Not only that it forces them to really look in the mirror at who they are as parents.
Such a great read!
