All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin is a timely story of a night-gone-wrong for a pair of teenagers and their parents. When Lyla ends up having an unfortunate picture of herself taken at a party that spreads like wildfire, the lives of Lyla, Finch and their parents will forever be changed.

This story hit on very important topics of the moment such as racism, classism, materialism, consent and sexual assault and more. It was an intriguing story and overall well-written, but at times I felt that Giffin was trying too hard to make a her statement on these issues. It didn't always feel organic but more like a cookie-cutter attempt to hit all of these issues in a 300+ book.

I enjoyed the book more than not, but there were some things I felt could have been done better.
