While this book was an easy read and poignant in terms of the social media debauchery that has consumed our youth, I found much of the book way too predictable. Of course the rich boy from the ideal family was going to get into trouble and expect his parents to bail him out. With that being said, I do applaud Emily Griffin for her ability to make the main character, Nina, a not so predictable mom in her response to her son’s actions.

Ordinarily, I read about characters that come into a financially advantageous situation and lose all principles and morals. It was refreshing to see that Nina didn’t rely on her husband’s wealth to solve a problem by “throwing money at it”. In an age where bullying and sexting via social media have become the “norm”, I think it is important to remember that adults need to guide youth to be responsible for their actions and understand the repercussions of the things they post online.
