Enjoyed how this book takes you from the present to the past through the diaries the main character reads during her church archiving project. Emily and Elizabet both have love and grief in common.
They are both very smart stubborn women.
Ryan and Rupert the men that fill the hearts of these women are very giving men. One loses her partner through death and the other is scared of what the future will bring if she allows herself to grieve for her parents properly in order to start her life properly with her partner.
I loved how the church pastor and old town madame both bring these characters their unique perspectives in this story.
The book gives you pieces of the diaries and is full of very interesting descriptive scenes. Ms. Williams did an overall great job with this literary fiction book.
Look forward to reading another one of her books very soon.
