This book had so many great qualities.
I loved that we were really brought through the emotional journey of Emily character. How we could really see her progression in dealing with her life's trauma. I loved that Williams gave her family and friends that were supportive throughout the whole novel. That by the end of the book Emily realized that they were her constant in her life even if she didn't notice it from the start.
I really liked that Emily and Elizabet both had perspectives in the book, it really showed that in life we all have a past filled with different kinds of struggles. That no matter what they were we can use them to relate to each other and moved through the pain.
The history aspect of the book was very thought out and interesting to read. I personally would love to see Williams write a book (or a few) of Elizabet's life and the events we got to see in her diary entries.
