I really enjoyed reading this book. While historical fiction is not usually my go to, I thought that it would be good to switch it up a little and I do not regret it at all.
What I liked about this book was how well the settings were painted. I felt as though I was there a lot of the time and experiencing what the characters were going through. I also enjoyed the multiple perspectives given in this book. I thought it added to the historical context and liked the contrast between Elizabet and Emily. It definitely kept the book more interesting, especially when I got tired of hearing everything from Emily's perspective all the time. In addition, the cover has an actual photo of the church from the story, which was a thoughtful small touch.
The only thing I really did not love about this book is that some of the conversations seemed cheesy. Overall, this book is a really good feel-good book as there are not any super obvious antagonists and all of the characters are usually likable.
