The premise of this book intrigues me. I'd be interested to see how the author weaves together the stories of the two women mentioned in the synopsis. The topics discussed in the synopsis (grief, coping with past trauma, etc.) are things I'd like to read about as well.
However, just from the sample that was provided, I can say that the author's writing style may simply not be for me.
