It's a decent first impression, but I'm just not sure I'd be invested in the characters. We are introduced to Emily in the present day timeline, but we haven't yet met Elizabet in the 1930s timeline, and I just can't predict if the addition of that storyline will increase my enjoyment or not. I suppose I would give the book a try, but I'm not convinced.
