All That Was has such a promising start! And that cover, my gosh, I love a great historical fiction novel with a twist. Emily seems like a complicated protagonist. She's suffered a terrible loss and hasn't allowed herself to process or grieve, instead she pushes ahead to prove she's fine. I for one, can't wait to see what Emily discovers in the church and the connections (I think) she'll make with a women who suffered many years ago. I wish we had gotten to meet Elisabet in this excerpt but I'm still excited about this book!
