Right from the getgo, I'm hooked on the relationship between Emily and Veronica. I like the way they seem to speak without really speaking. Funny thing is I spent the first few pages thinking that Emily and Veronica were sisters so I had to reread when Colin told Emily that he was her parents best man!
That being said, there is a huge story here. A huge one. Emily can not seem to get over her parents' death. To be honest, you don't ever get over a parent's death. She seems to be doing well, until Colin told her that the church she is going to start working in, was the church her parents got married in. That seems to be bringing a whole lot to the surface for her.
I'm really eager to read this book and see where the story goes. I'm not sure why I have alarms going off about Colin. However he was her parents best friend and him and Veronica did take her in after her parents died...so I could be way off! I'm anticipating a great journey for Emily to help her come to terms about her parents death. There is going to be a link there with the church, and I can't wait to find out what it is!
