I saw so many positive reviews of this book and I knew the author was a South Asian Muslim like me so, of course, I had to pick it up. Man, was "All My Rage" a letdown, though. The writing was boring and choppy. The multiple timelines (one in the past in Pakistan and the one in the present day, United States) didn't make sense or connect at all to me. The characters were also pretty disappointing. I went in with the idea that this was a Muslim book, i.e., had Muslim characters and themes but it was nowhere to be found aside from the names of the two main characters. Had this been written about anyone else of any other marginalized group, one would say it was superficial and offensive to use an identity as some sort of mask. Well, the same applies here. Maybe people are afraid to critique a Muslim, South Asian woman's book because you can be called certain names but I'm not going to back down. I truly had high hopes for this book but it was met with disappointment.
